It's not quite warm enough to swim yet (by my standards anyway) but that doesn't prevent us from having a little fun with water! While I was watering the plants today I let the little man have the spray bottle filled with water. He LOVES this spray bottle & will water the plants, his bikes, the braai (bbq), the table etc. Well, today he worked out he can water....himself. It was SOOOO funny watching him turn the nozzle around & spray himself. He got a big fright every time, but it only took nanoseconds to go from this face:

So clearly he was really enjoying the water. It really is the simplest things with kids, a $1 spray bottle and water from the tap provided tons of entertainment!!
Since he was enjoying the water so much I also brought out the "water painting" supplies - a cup of water & a paint brush. This idea was taught to me by a really good friend of mine (who also happens to be an awesome Mum!). Simply dip the paintbrush in the water & "paint" the cement - works like a charm, and dries up quickly. No mess, no fuss. Ok, there was a little mess because my little guy decided to make handprints, and he had on a long-sleeved t-shirt, so he got the sleeves soaking wet. Which would have been fine, but he went straight from "painting" to digging in the dirt & got rather muddy. Still, he was happy, we spent time outdoors, and we had a really nice morning. What more could I ask for?
